HMD Global holds the license to manufacture Nokia branded smartphones. They have recently launched the Nokia 7.1 device at an event in London. The announcement of getting the Android 9 also came along.
The first Nokia phone to get the Android Pie
The first Nokia phone to get upgraded to the new software is the Nokia 7 Plus. The smartphone was upgraded to Android Pie only a week ago.
HMD Global has announced that Android 9 Pie’s sweetness will come to more Nokia phones in the days to come.
HDM Global has now confirmed that four other Nokia phones including the Nokia 6.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco will get Pie update soon.
HMD Global announced that first of the lot will be the devices running on the Snapdragon 600-series chipsets, the Nokia 6.1 and the Nokia 6.1 Plus.
Both these phones are said to get upgraded to Android 9 Pie in the month of October itself.
What will be the next Nokia Phones to get it?
These Nokia phones will be followed by the Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco. These two Nokia phones will get Android 9 Pie’s sweetness next month.
In addition, the company has made another confirmation. It says that Android 9 Pie will be rolled out to the rest of its portfolio soon after these initial devices.
The company has promised earlier that all its smartphones will get Android updates for the next two years and security updates for the next three years after the launch.

The company has recently launched its latest smartphone Nokia 7.1 in London with Pure Display technology.
HMD has stressed on the Pure Display tech which is a first in a Nokia handset. It is claimed to improve the viewing experience with a better contrast ratio.
