Construction on Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme to be started in Punjab
This construction in Naya Pakistan Housing will be started in 3 districts of Punjab initially.
The work on Naya Pakistan Housing housing scheme to build 5 million low-cost houses across the country, as promised by Prime Minister Imran Khan, will be started in three districts of Punjab from next month.

The Task Force chairman said that work on the construction of housing units will be started in three districts of Punjab including Lodhran, Okara, and Bahawalnagar from December 2018.
In this regard, the first-ever meeting of the Housing Task Force was held in Punjab, which was chaired by the Prime Minister Imran Khan.
This was revealed by Zaigham Rizvi, the Chairman Prime Minister’s Task Force on Housing. While addressing the meeting, Zaigham Rizvi made the announcement along with Punjab Minister for Housing Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed.
Zaigham Rizvi made it clear that the construction of housing units is a time-consuming job. However, the government is keen to complete the 5 million figure within 5 years.

He also told that Prime Minister Imran Khan is very much interested in the project and had chaired 14 meetings over the project so far.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will perform the groundbreaking of the project in the districts. Over 1 Million Kanal land has been identified for the scheme in different areas of the province.
The Prime Minister ordered to remove legal lacunas in mortgage financing. The PM referred the matter to the legal committee of the scheme.
The task force for the project
The Chairman informed that Punjab has decided to set up its own task force for the project. The federal government will facilitate the provinces and an institutional framework will be formulated for the project.
Rizvi said that a real estate regulatory authority will be established to regulate the sector. He also said that the government will remove hindrances and shortcomings regarding house financing for the project.
The construction responsibility:
He clarified that the housing units under the project would not be constructed by the government rather private investors would build the units.
On the occasion, the Minister of Housing, Rasheed said that the government will also provide houses to poor people of the country under the project.
