Rallies without permission; cases registered against Maryam

On July 21, the Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz held a rally in Faisalabad in support of Nawaz Sharif.

Maryam praised the spirit demonstrated by the supporters who gathered at the venue to express their love for former premier Nawaz Sharif. She took to her Twitter account saying the roads have been blocked by containers.

While addressing people of Faisalabad, she said that the incumbent government is taking its last breath. She had announced to launch a protest campaign in Pakistan for the release of Nawaz Sharif and to restore the rule of the law in the country.

Police Stopped Maryam’s Rally

Maryam’s public rally was stopped by police as the administration had not given her permission to carry out the activity.

But still, Vice President of PML-N held a rally without getting prior permission from relevant provincial authorities and has been accused in four cases for holding a rally without permission.

Others Involved in the Case:

Other members of PML-N who are accused in the case, include former Sindh governor Muhammad Zubair, JavedLatif, Talal Chaudhry, Captain (r)Safdar and wife of RanaSanaullah.

Here is what Minister of Punjab Information and Culture Said:

The Minister of Punjab Information and Culture, MianAslamIqbalcriticized Maryam Nawaz and said:

“Maryam should account for her corruption instead of leading political rallies.”

He said that PML-N wants to create unrest in the country and has fallen victim to its own contradictory statements. He said that half of PML-N’s leadership wants to strike a deal while the remaining wants to stage a protest.

Police Registered Four FIRs:

Police registered four FIRs against Maryam Nawaz and other party leaders for holding a public rally without seeking permission from the city administration.

According to police, these cases have been registered against over 5,000 people at different stations of the city, including Nishatabad, Sargodha Road, Factory Area, and Sumanabad.

The cases were registered under 14 different provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), including those related to anti-government speeches, inciting people against the government of the day, and the use of loudspeakers.
