- Girl Child Awareness program launched through Pakistan’s mesmerizing truck art.
The human rights ministry has launched its Girl Child Awareness programme with the aid of using Pakistan’s mesmerising truck art, minister Shireen Mazari said on Friday.
In a Twitter post, Mazari, the federal minister for human rights, introduced that the program was launched in collaboration with Samar MinAllah Khan — an anthropologist and documentary filmmaker — and the European Union (EU).
Mazari, whose ministry launched the awareness application on the International Day of the Girl Child — celebrated around the world on October eleven — additionally met with the truck owners, announcing it “was great to meet the truck proprietors who gave their vehicles & the artists who painted them”.
The newly-painted trucks have captions such as ‘Children’s security is your duty, provide me safety,’ ‘I desire to study, I will grow to be your light,’ and ‘Let me play, let me make my us proud’.
“Can’t wait to see them on the road,” the human rights minister added.
A day prior, the ministry of human rights had appointed one of Pakistan’s most liked actors, Mehwish Hayat, as a goodwill ambassador for girls’ rights.
A “delighted” Hayat had said in a video message she had been “appointed with the aid of the Ministry of Human Rights as their Goodwill Ambassador for the rights of the woman child”.
About her new role, she said it used to be “something very close to my heart & I seem forward to actively raising the consciousness of the issues to be addressed”.
