Govt. Approves Ramazan Package Worth Rs. 8.28b Subsidizing 19 Commodities
ISLAMABAD: The Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) has approved the Ramadan relief package worth Rs8.28b
Under the package 19 essential items will be provided on subsidized rates to the people through Utility Stores Corporation across the country.
According to details, the approval was given at a meeting of the ECC chaired by Federal Minister for Finance, Senator Shaukat Tareen.
According to a statement issued in this regard, the ECC meeting chaired by the Federal Minister of Finance considered the summaries sent by various ministries.
According to the announcement, a total of Rs. 136 billion will be provided under the Prime Minister’s Relief Package, which Include Ramzan Package, 5 Rupee reduction in electricity unit price, 10 Rupees reduction on Petrol and diesel prices each and a special package for overseas Pakistanis as well.
‘Kamyab Overseas Program’ for Overseas Pakistanis has been approved under which interest free loans will be provided to low income immigrants. Under the successful Overseas Program, loans up to Rs. 300,000 will be provided to 10,180 people.
The meeting also approved a Ramadan relief package of Rs. 8.28 billion. Under this, 19 essential items will be subsidized at utility stores.
According to Hum News, the government will pay the difference in price to the oil marketing companies under Petroleum Relief.
According to reports, a statement issued regarding the ECC meeting said that a supplementary grant of Rs. 135 billion was also approved for payment of principal and interest on New Pakistan certificates.
