Govt. Files Review Petition On SC Judgment On Speaker Ruling Case

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to file a review petition in the Supreme Court.

According to media reports, the PTI has decided to approach the Supreme Court to review the decision of the Supreme Court against the rejection of the opposition’s no-confidence motion and the ruling of the Deputy Speaker.

The proposed petition is that Article 69 is part of the Constitution, the Supreme Court cannot take over the powers of the Assembly.

The April 7 decision of the Supreme Court should be suspended and the National Assembly should be allowed to function in accordance with the rules.

On the other hand, the office hours of the court are fixed at 12:30 PM in Ramadan, and due to the expiration of this day, no review petition by the government could be filed against the decision regarding Deputy Speaker’s ruling.
