Imam Ul Haq And Shaheen Afridi Leap Frog In New ICC Rankings Update

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released new ranking of players after Pakistan won the ODI series against Australia.

The ICC today released the rankings of Test and ODI players, according to which Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne remains at first in the batters’ category in tests, while Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam retains the first position in the ODIs.

Also in the ODI rankings, Imam-ul-Haq, who scored 298 runs thanks to two centuries in the series against Australia, and Shaheen Afridi, who bowled brilliantly, have made a long jump in the rankings.

Test rankings:

According to the new ICC Test Player Rankings, Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne is ranked first in the Batters, followed by Steve Smith’s second, New Zealand’s Ken Williamson’s third, England’s Joe Root’s fourth and Pakistan’s Babar Azam at fifth.

Australia’s Pat Cummins remains the number one Test bowler, while India’s Ravi Chandran Ashwin is second in the rankings and Jaspreet Bumra has moved up one place to third.

In addition, Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi moved up one place to fourth in the rankings, while South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada slipped two places to fifth.

ODI rankings:

In the ODI batting rankings, Pakistan captain Babar Azam’s first position became even more stronger. After scoring 2 centuries against Australia, Babar’s ranking points increased from 872 to 891.

Besides, India’s Virat Kohli is at the second position with 811 points while Pakistan’s Imam-ul-Haq is at the third position in the rankings.

Imam-ul-Haq’s ranking points rose to 795 after a stellar performance in the ODI series against Australia.

It should be noted that before that he was at the tenth position with 746 points

In terms of ODI bowlers’ rankings, New Zealand’s Trent Bolt remains at number one, England’s Chris Woakes at number two and Australia’s Josh Hazelwood at number three.

Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi is at the seventh position with 671 points. Before that he was at the 15th position with 627 points.

Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan retains the number one position in ODI all-rounders.
