Govt. has planned to integrate all the emergency helplines across the country with the one single national helpline. Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the national helpline 911 on the first of Ramadan.
According to sources, the 911 helpline will be connected to all the emergency helplines across the country, which will make it possible to contact all the emergency response agencies.
The Prime Minister held a review meeting on Pakistan Emergency Helpline 911 in which the Prime Minister said that protection of life and property of the people is our top priority.
The Prime Minister was informed in the briefing that Fire Brigade, Police, Health Assistance, Disaster Recovery would be merged, Motorway Police and 36 other individual emergency numbers would also be merged into 911.
All that is required is to dial 911 after which the call center will send the call to the concerned government agency. The project is a joint venture between the Ministry of IT and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Prime Minister directed the concerned authorities to take all necessary steps to ensure the operation.
