Top 20 Countries to Lead Global Growth By 2024 and Pakistan is on the list

  • According to a report by the International Monetary Fund, Pakistan will be one of the top twenty countries to dominate global growth by 2024.
  • The global growth is expected to see slower growth in the next half-decade across a wide swath of economies.
  • New growth drivers in the next half-decade will include Pakistan, Mexico, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, whereas Poland, Spain, Canada, and Vietnam drop out of the first 20.

The IMF has published a report in which Pakistan is anticipated to be among the top 20 drivers of global growth by 2024.

The report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) also includes China, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, and Bangladesh from the Asian countries.

China has been a major driver of world growth for years, but according to the report by the IMF, its expansion is expected to slow down. On the other hand, India will leave behind the USA.

The weaker global growth is expected to fall to 3% this year and the slowest since the global financial crisis, will affect 90% of the world, the IMF estimated.

Pakistan is rising on the Global Economic Horizon – PM Imran Khan

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Pakistan is rising on the global economic horizon. He made this statement while presiding over a session of government officials.

He further said that those who cannot see Pakistan strengthening economically are busy conspiring against the country.

PM Imran Khan further said that Pakistan is rising on the global economic horizon owing to the concrete steps taken by the incumbent government.

“Some of the powers are unhappy with it. Such elements are only trying to create anarchy in the country,” he stated.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had chaired a meeting of his economic team in Islamabad. He discussed the current economic situation, economic indicators, tax net, economic reforms, ease of doing business and other issues. On the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan lauded his economic team for turning around the economy within a year.
