Hundreds of Protesters Gather in Washington against Abolition of Article 370
- Indian govt had scrapped the article which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir and proposed that the territory be divided into two Union territories.
- A large number of Kashmiri community members held a protest against the scrapping of Article 370.
- Protesters urged the world to take notice of violations of UN resolutions in occupied Kashmir by India.
Hundreds of Pakistani and Kashmiri protesters held a protest in Washington outside the Indian High Commission against India’s decision.
The protesters chanted slogans against the Indian government. Some Indian and American students also participated in the protest. The protesters strongly condoned human rights violations in occupied Kashmir by India.
Protests across the Country:
It was also reported that rallies and protests were held across the country against the Indian government’s move to scrap occupied Kashmir of its special status.
Hundreds of protesters came out in Azad Jammu Kashmir and rallies were held throughout the state to condemn the Indian presidential decree that scraped the special status for disputed Kashmir region.
In other Towns:
Protests were held in Muzaffarabad, Neelum, Jhelum Valley, Bagh, Rawalakot and other cities and towns of Azad Kashmir.
In Mirpur Division:
Rallies were held in Mirpur Division in which thousands of people carried banners and placards with slogans in support of Kashmir.
In Lahore and Karachi:
Various organizations also held in Karachi and Lahore to condemn the Indian act to revoke article 370 regarding the special status of Occupied Kashmir.
The protesters criticized the suspension of Article 370 of the Indian constitution and declared it a conspiracy orchestrated for the geographical division of Kashmir.
Protesters said that the independence movement in Kashmir would gain energy in upcoming days and India would have to face the music. They demanded that the Indian government should stop killings.
They condemned the use of cluster bombs on civilian areas in order to show its illegal supremacy over the occupied valley.
