CM Punjab decides to shift 10,800 schools to Solar Energy

  • Chief Minister Punjab decided to shift 10,800 schools of South Punjab to Solar Energy.
  • Punjab University and the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore will be shifted to solar energy.
  • The government ensures better quality education by providing basic facilities to all the government-run schools throughout the country.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar presided over a meeting in which he decided to shift 10,800 schools of South Punjab to solar energy.

Earlier, the CM Punjab had directed the departments to complete the development schemes at a fast pace and warned that any unnecessary delay would not be tolerated at all.

“I need performance and people delaying the welfare schemes would be held accountable,” he warned.

He said that the extremely backward districts of South Punjab are the main focus of the ongoing development schemes.

People of backward areas have all the right to use the latest and modern facilities and we have to give them their right, CM said.

The Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has decided to shift 10,800 schools of South Punjab to solar energy, authorities are directed to complete this task till December.

The government is planning to provide solar energy to backward areas that have no transmission lines. These areas include:

  • Rajan Pur
  • Cholistan
  • Thar
  • Dera Ghazi Khan

The authorities are directed to supply electricity to these areas through solar energy. In the first phase, the government will shift Punjab University to solar energy.

In the second phase, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore will be shifted to solar energy.

This decision has been taken in order to provide a permanent supply of electricity and also to save electricity.

Conclusion:

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is taking practical measures for providing better facilities to people and no one is allowed to create hurdles in such programs.

The government believes in service delivery and it is a responsibility of the agencies concerned to achieve targets within a given time-frame.

The government always ensured a better quality of education and promised to provide basic facilities to all the government-run schools throughout the country. Such revolutionary measures would enhance education in the country and create better impact of government-run schools.
