Saudi Govt. Decides To Expand First Islamic Mosque Quba Tenfold
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has announced that the Quba Mosque will be expanded tenfold.
According to Saudi media reports, the new project will be the largest expansion in the history of the mosque in Medina, covering an area of 50,000 square meters.
Under the plan, attributed to Saudi King Salman, the mosque’s capacity will be increased to 66,000 worshipers.
Masjid Qaba is the first mosque of Islam which was built by the Prophet of Islam.
Regarding the project, Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman said that under the project, the capacity for pilgrims would be increased during the Hajj and Umrah season.
The project also aims to highlight the religious significance of the Qaba Mosque and preserve the monuments located nearby along with the architectural style.
