#1 Qatar-Pakistan exports increase by 37.42%, imports fall by 153.39%
Bilateral trade volume between Pakistan and Gulf country Qatar has declined during the current financial year. In the first five months of the financial year, Pakistan’s exports to Qatar increased by 37.42 percent while imports from Qatar declined by 153.39 percent. The volume of bilateral trade between the two countries has declined by a total of 122.70%.
According to the data released by the SBP in this regard, the volume of Pakistani exports to Qatar during July-November 2020 was recorded at 63.63 million as compared to the previous fiscal year. In the same period of last financial year, the volume of Pakistani exports to Qatar was recorded at 46.30 million.
In November 2020, the volume of Pakistani exports to Qatar was recorded at 12.54 million. In the last financial year, Qatar’s exports were recorded at 148.66 million. According to the SBP, imports from Qatar in the current financial year have declined by 153.39 percent compared to the same period last year.
In the period from July to November 2020, the volume of imports from Qatar was recorded at 313.60 million. In the same period of the previous financial year, the volume of imports from Qatar was recorded at 794.65 million. In 20, Qatar imported a total of 1.628 billion.

Regarding Pakistan Post, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) had stipulated that the general savings accounts and special savings accounts of the customers should be closed in the existing post offices of Pakistan Post. The government has completed preparations for its implementation.
Pakistan Post has decided to start the process of closing general savings accounts and special savings accounts in post offices across the country from Monday, January 4, while on January 15, these two savings accounts will be closed completely.
In this regard, in the first phase, the Ministry of Communications will close the accounts which have an amount of Rs 100 to Rs 500 and no transaction for the last one year from January 15.
This decision will close 50,000 savings accounts across Pakistan. Messages have been issued by the post office to all such savings account holders.
Remember that after this the post office will also transfer the pension system to the banks in phases.
