PM Invites US Businessmen to Benefit from Investment Opportunities in Pakistan
- Prime Minister Imran Khan has reached the United States for a three-day official visit over the invitation of President Donald Trump.

Prime Minister Imran Khan invited businessmen and investors in the US to benefit from the economic and business opportunities by Pakistan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan is on a three-day official visit to the US and met with the US businessmen during his first official visit.
In a meeting at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC, Prime Minister invited US businessmen to benefit from economic and business opportunities in Pakistan.
PM Imran Khan during his official visit is scheduled to go to the White House on July 22 for an extensive three-hour visit.
This will include a one-on-one meeting with President Donald Trump, and two meetings and a working lunch with the president’s team.
The premier met TahirJaved, a Texas-based Pakistani businessman and a member of the Democratic Party, Javaid Anwar, a Pakistani American businessman, as well as a group of prospective investors.

According to a post shared by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) official Twitter account, Prime Minister invited the US businessmen to benefit from the economic and business opportunities in Pakistan.

The investors appreciated the improved security environment in Pakistan. They identified areas of interest for investment in key sectors such as energy and tourism sectors.
PM Imran Khan welcomed to Washington DC:
Americans of Pakistani origin braved the sweltering heat to welcome the Prime Minister to Washington DC.
Hundreds of members of the community belonging to the Washington metro area and other states came to the US capital and lined up along Massachusetts Avenue near Pakistan House, where the premier is staying during the visit.
People waved the Pakistani and American flags to express their support for the visit. “We’re so excited that our leader is here. Pakistani-Americans are here to show their love for him,” Johny Bashir, a Virginia-based PTI enthusiast said.
“I am very happy as a Pakistani-American; Pm Imran Khan is here. I’m sure Imran Khan will bring the two countries together in a strong bond of friendship,” said Virginia-based Imran Butt.
A Woodbridge-based businessman, SaadatRana, said the community is waiting anxiously to hear the premier address them at the Capital One Arena.
“We are so happy, we believe this visit will be historic in fostering close relations and creating understanding between the peoples of two countries,” he said.
Imran Igra, a New York-based businessperson, who drove to DC for the visit, said:
“We take pride in the fact that Pakistan has a dignified Prime Minister now. And the expatriate business community looks forward to investing in Pakistan.”
The gathered supporters changed slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.
A rally of over 100 cars followed the prime minister from Dulles Airport to Washington DC to greet the leader.
PM Imran Khan’s Schedule during the Visit:
While discussing the Prime minister’s schedule, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Prime Minister on Sunday will meet IMF chief David Lipton and his delegation.
Later, PM will have a similar meeting with the World Bank president. In the evening, he will also attend a community event at Washington’s Capital One Arena. The event’s organizer, Dr. Abdullah Riar said: “We are expecting between 15,000 and 20,000 people.”
PM Imran Khan is scheduled to meet Pakistani-Americans investors, media interviews. Other engagements include: addressing the US-Pakistani Business Council and a dinner meeting with selected leaders of America’s corporate sector.
On Monday, July 22, the prime minister will arrive at the White House and after the book signing ceremony he will attend two sessions;
- A small group meeting (Will be held in Oval Office)
- An extended meeting (Will be held in Cabinet Room)
During PM’s visit, the US leader will accompany him on a White House tour where he will have a one-on-one meeting with President Trump.
Furthermore, US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo will call on the premiere on July 23. Prime Minister Imran Khan will also address a meeting at the US Institute of Peace and have lunch with newspaper editors.
PM Imran Khan will meet with the Foreign Relations Committee of the Senate at Capitol Hill. Later, he will address the bipartisan Pakistani American Caucus for which, 40+ lawmakers have reportedly already signed up. PM will meet Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi as well.
PM Imran Khan’s first official visit to the United States will focus on strengthening cooperation between the United States and Pakistan to bring peace, stability, and economic prosperity to a region that has seen far too much conflict.
