World Bank Stats Show Pakistan Has Lowest Unemployment Rate In Region
ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday congratulated his team for effectively tackling the Covid19 epidemic which has led to the lowest unemployment rate in the country in South Asia.
“Congratulations to my government on the way we dealt with the COVID-19 epidemic – it’s better than all the countries in South Asia,” he said in a tweet.
The tweet came in response to a survey by the World Bank’s South Asia Index, which found that Pakistan’s standing is way better in South Asian countries in terms of unemployment rate.
According to the survey, Pakistan has 4.3% unemployment rate compared to India (8%), Maldives (6.3%), Bangladesh (5.4%), Sri Lanka (5.9%), Bhutan (5%) and Nepal (5%).
